Great food deserves great surroundings and The Mill Wheel offers both in abundance. The rustic ambience of the mill has been preserved (the old mill wheel remains) and the passionate kitchen team creates vibrant and flavoursome dishes combining the best of traditional pub food with a more refined restaurant menu.
Open every evening for dining as well as just drinks, The Mill Wheel also offers a tasty lunch at the weekends. Diners can choose from starters such as sumptuous Kerala lamb chops, and mouth-watering baked Camembert. Main courses on offer include stunning lamb rump with redcurrant sauce, warming homemade pie of the day, and a regularly changing specials menu. You can even watch your pizza being made in front of you in the open pizza kitchen. The Mill Wheel’s curry night is legendary, and the Sunday menu provides incredible value. There’s also a lovely beer garden, and a regularly changing range of quality local cask ale. A great selection of wine is supplied by a local importer.
The Mill Wheel’s Beer, Food and Music Festival is exceptionally popular and takes place biannually, during the end of May and August Bank Holiday weekends. You’re always guaranteed a friendly welcome and will feel like a regular from the moment you arrive. We’d definitely recommend booking in advance for this fantastic venue; weekends are particularly busy.
