The Hockley Arts Club

Tucked away down an unassuming alley is a narrow doorway to an eclectic wonderland, The Hockley Arts Club, which has received rave reviews since it opened in November 2015. The tiny entrance to this former silk merchant’s opens into three floors of opulent, retro bars, each with its own unique atmosphere. On the ground floor, retro chandeliers and a juke box create a throwback 1950s vibe, upstairs beaded lamps, leather sofas and neon lighting lend the feel of a secret club, while on the top floor there’s an outdoor atmosphere – with wicker chairs and plants twining around the rafters – that changes with the seasons.

Thanks to the award-winning bar team, The Hockley Arts Club is renowned for its quirkily creative cocktails. The secret lies in the homemade ingredients, inventive concoctions and attention to detail shown in the finishing touches, such as the retro ice lolly crowning the eponymous Twister cocktail. The food served has a focus on fresh, local and seasonal ingredients, taking cues from and celebrating classic British dishes. The Hockley offers a variety of menus, including the bottomless Prosecco brunch on Saturday, and their acclaimed roast menu, which can be sought out on Sundays.
