The Curry Lounge chefs have carefully selected the finest of age-old traditional Indian recipes and meticulously perfected each one using their years of experience and expertise. Their hard work is all in order to deliver authentic, first-rate Indian cuisine to us, the diners of Nottingham. As a result, a collection of enticing homemade meals occupies Curry Lounge's refreshingly novel menu. Here you'll find dishes from all corners of the Subcontinent, each prepared as they are in their native lands and presented with finesse.
Owner and chef Arfan Razak, better known as Raz, has a strong set of culinary principles which he and his team constantly strive to uphold. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed; since opening in 2007, Curry Lounge has developed an outstanding reputation, endorsed by many glowing reviews and accolades. Their high standards and low prices have been recognised by Toptable, who granted the restaurant their Gold Award for quality and value in 2012. Curry Lounge also holds the coveted title of 'East Midlands Best Indian Restaurant' for 2012 and 2013. But enough of their trophies; the cuisine is this restaurant's real treasure.
2013 has seen some new and exciting dishes making their debut on the Curry Lounge menu, such as the starter of tempura prawns - jumbo prawns flavoured with lime and garam masala, and coated in a light batter of aromatic flour. Meanwhile, all-new main courses include the methi chicken, which features tender chicken pieces braised with a Punjabi onion masala, methi leaves, chilli, tomato and cumin seeds - a fantastic fusion of flavours. Curry Lounge staples such as the achari lamb are of course still on offer; this particular favourite is made from lamb cooked in a traditional pickling sauce of mustard seeds, cinnamon, lime leaves and onion, and served with a deliciously thick sauce. These novel dishes are accompanied by more familiar classics such as rich bhunas, fiery jalfrezis and traditional baltis, as well as a host of different side dishes, breads and chutneys. Also offering a 'sinless range' of lower-calorie options, Curry Lounge is perfect for those watching their waistline as well as their wallet.
