When you're in Nottingham or Newark you're never far from a Tynemill pub. The company was established back in 1977 in Newark and still operates the Fox & Crown in the town. Now with new headquarters at Castle Rock Brewery in the centre of Nottingham the company has built an excellent reputation for not only delivering quality food and drink, but offering choice and value in clean, well looked after, safe and unpretentious surroundings. Tynemill has twice been awarded the accolade of Pub Company of the Year.
Tynemill also owns the city's biggest brewery: the renowned and award winning Castle Rock Brewery. The beers, as you would expect, can be found around the estate and in other independent outlets in the area. No trip to Nottingham is complete without sampling a pint of Harvest Pale or Elsie Mo. Castle Rock expect to open their doors to visitors during 2007 and advise that those interested in arranging a tour keep an eye out for more information either in the pubs or on the company website. In fact the website also carries a full up to date list of all the pubs in the group if you're travelling further afield.
You will always find an exceptional range of well-kept traditional beers from leading local and regional brewers around the country. Tynemill believe in offering a choice and decides not just to offer beers from Castle Rock. There is also a very wide range of draught and bottled beers from around the world, a hand picked wine list available by the glass and a great range of soft drinks. You soon appreciate that Tynemill looks at things from a customer point of view and as a result there is certainly something for everyone.
Tynemill's food operation is distinctive amongst pub chains. The menus are prepared by each individual pub manager and not sent out by HQ. There is no hint of 'food by numbers' or a simple 'one plastic menu fits all' approach.
