The Nags Head is a traditional pub located in Glenfield, a convenient ten minute drive from the centre of Leicester. You’re guaranteed a warm welcome from staff, and a cosy atmosphere that is enhanced by the pub’s rustic decor of exposed beams and wood-panelled walls.
The team takes great pride in the Sunday roast, which has gained a reputation as one of the best in the area. Particularly delicious is the topside of mature British beef – pan-seared before roasted with red wine, rosemary, sage and thyme – with an English mustard and cracked black pepper glaze. Other tempting options include leg of Welsh lamb, roasted with garlic and rosemary with a redcurrant jelly glaze, and breast of English turkey with tarragon and garlic butter. Despite being of the highest quality, this Sunday lunch won’t put a strain on your wallet. The excellent value becomes even more impressive when you dine before 1pm, as the early bird offer means that meals are 20-per-cent cheaper. The restaurant also has a great range of vegetarian and vegan dishes, ensuring that everyone is catered for.
Visit for afternoon tea, served every Saturday, complete with delicate sandwiches, homemade scones and petits fours. For a truly indulgent afternoon, why not accompany your treats with Prosecco? The Nags Head also holds a quiz every Thursday evening, as well as regular karaoke nights and live entertainment.
