Having descended the staircase and strutted your stuff along the red carpet into Everest Dine you'll already be feeling like a winner - and that's before you begin to explore the gastronomic delights available. Taking a seat at a beautifully laid table beneath elegant chandeliers you will be offered an extensive menu containing a wealth of Nepalese and Indian delicacies, designed by chefs whose aim is to use only the finest ingredients to prepare authentic dishes using a combination of traditional and more contemporary methods.
Such is the successful nature of the thinking behind Everest Dine that it is now one of six associated restaurants located all over the world. So what's the appeal? Everything is cooked fresh to order in house using authentic blends of herbs and spices, resulting in a delicious and accurate representation of Nepalese and Indian cooking. There is plenty of fresh fish and starters like the Everest spiced paneer - pan-fried homemade cottage cheese cooked with mixed peppers, fresh green chillies, garlic and fresh herbs. Chef's recommendations include the spicy lasun kukhura khursani, chicken cooked with garlic, green chillies and spring onions in chef's special sauce, while the Everest Dine Platter section of the menu delivers such delicacies as lamb meatballs marinated with crushed cumin, chilli, coriander, ginger, garlic, coriander, tomato and spices with a touch of cream, served with boiled basmati rice. Delicious rice and bread options complete a tempting picture.
This upmarket, comfortable, fresh and affordable restaurant was awarded Leicester Mercury's Best Indian and Nepalese Restaurant title for 2012 and 2013, meaning it's not just me vouching for its superiority and superb food
