From the outside The Grouse looks like a traditional Derbyshire pub, but step inside and the tasteful Chinese-style decor is a hint that you won't find the usual pub-grub here. Instead, you'll find yourself browsing a delightful menu boasting a range of homemade Chinese, Cantonese, Szechuan and Peking cuisine whilst taking in the spectacular view over the Peaks. My friend and I began with a special starter, which comprised a selection of pancakes, prawn toast, wontons, curried chicken samosa, ribs and battered scallops served with crispy seaweed. To follow we chose juicy king prawns with mild ginger and spring onions, and a zesty lemon chicken with noodles and egg-fried rice and were more than happy sharing everything. I suggest ordering a bowl of chilli chips - a house speciality that's incredibly moreish. A buzzing venue, even mid-week, The Grouse comes highly recommended
