Run by the talented duo also behind The Lighthouse, Boboli benefits from all of Sarah and Lino Poli’s many years of experience of running a speciality Italian restaurant. You might have guessed from his name, but chef Lino has Italian heritage, and this means that he strictly adheres to making dishes in a traditional Italian way. The pizzas, for example, are all homemade using caputo flour for an authentic Neapolitan experience, and the pizzoccheri pasta (which is similar to tagliatelle) is made with buckwheat flour, just as the classic recipe demands. The menu also features influences from other regions of Italy, including the superb ossobuco al Milanese. The wine list consists of only Italian varieties. Furthermore, despite the use of premium imported olive oils and Parma ham, the cost of dining here is impressively reasonable. The set menu, in fact, costs from just £13.50 for two courses.
