Foxton Locks Inn has to be one of the best-positioned pubs in Leicestershire. Located in a 20-acre park, at the bottom of ten locks, the pub overlooks the canal basin, so incredible views can be enjoyed from its windows, especially when the sun is shining.
A recent refurbishment has made the outside terrace an even lovelier place to be all year round - it is covered by a fully retractable roof, which can shield diners from the elements during the winter and be pulled back to enable them to bask in the sunshine in the summer. It even has under-floor heating. Needless to say, this pub is very popular with walkers and families as it's the ideal place to relax after exploring the picturesque surrounding countryside. Foxton Locks Inn is also a fantastic party venue thanks to the separate building available for private hire, which is also on the waterside and has its own terrace.

Foxton Locks Inn specialises in traditional fare, and makes everything in-house using fresh produce wherever possible. To begin, sample the likes of deep-fried whitebait - a well-executed classic - and continue with chicken kievs, homemade using poultry from a local butcher, followed by homemade bread and butter pudding.
