The Bakewell Tart Shop & Coffee House

What a treat it is to walk through The Bakewell Tart Shop and see all of the fabulous cakes and pies proudly displayed. Inside the shop you’ll fi nd the café and bakery counter, filled with pretty furniture and vintage crockery, and attended to by smartly dressed staff. From the tempting menu and selection of specials we chose to indulge in afternoon tea. A wrought iron stand was promptly delivered to our table, with its tiers bedecked with neatly cut sandwiches, fresh salad and coleslaw, and scones accompanied by jam and clotted cream. This was paired with a pretty teapot filled with the tea of our choice, and was perfect. As the name suggests, the shop offers traditional Bakewell tarts – which can be posted to anywhere in the country – in addition to a range of other sweet treats like lemon and coconut tart.
