Located in the small Bassetlaw village of Torworth, which lies on the Great North Road between Bawtry and Retford, The Separatist Inn offers stylish gastropub dining with a refreshingly diverse menu. The decor references the Mayflower Pilgrims (also known as Separatists), who set sail to the New World in 1620. Each of the six luxury rooms is themed and named after a famous descendant of the Pilgrims.
While the setting offers a taste of history, the menu is contemporary and creative. You’ll find that the pub classics menu offers a selection of crowd-pleasing mains, such as The Separatist burger, which is made with 100-per-cent British beef, served with bacon, Cheddar and onion relish in a brioche bun, and accompanied by triple-cooked chips. From the chef’s specials, opt for pigeon breast served with potato rosti, black pudding, apple, pork crackling crumb and red wine reduction, or the venison pie with parmentier potatoes, squash purée, honey-glazed butternut squash and red wine jus. Pop in for a quiet drink in the lounge bar, or enjoy an al fresco meal in the beer garden and dining terrace; either way you’re guaranteed a fantastic experience. With a great selection of local beer, lager, wine and cocktails, there’s truly something for everyone.
