Adopting a homespun approach to decor, MADE @ No. 18 is a quirky bistro combining exposed brickwork and stripped-back pine with a handmade touch. The venue plays host to community arts projects and live entertainment in a converted stable block to its rear, while the restaurant offers four distinct menus for diners to choose from, showcasing seasonally inspired dishes that are prepared with thoughtfully sourced ingredients.
We began by sharing hummus and warm flatbread and crispy Cornish Brie with ale and apple chutney. For mains, we opted for pan-fried chicken fillet, Parma ham and fresh asparagus topped with melted Brie; and 8oz top rump accompanied by tomato, Portobello mushroom and beer-bettered onion rings, both served with hand-cut chips.
MADE @ No. 18 is the perfect place for great entertainment and a delicious meal. A variety of evening dinner and entertainment events take place throughout the year, including monthly open mic and bistro nights, gin and wine tastings, and arts and crafts events. In the autumn of 2017 the team will debut their fully licensed cinema. Screening everything from art house productions to cult classics, visitors will be able to sit down to exceptional food and drink in the restaurant, before rounding off the evening enjoying a relaxed, intimate film showing.
