The moment you enter the ornately decorated Voodoo Rooms you are made to feel special by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. The drinks menu offers themed cocktails and a great selection of wines, perfect for accompanying the beautifully presented twist on traditional Scottish cuisine that defines this restaurant. Seated in the intimate dining room, start with salmon gravadlax served on a bed of pickled fennel and accompanied by citrus and dill crème fraîche. I fully endorse following this with a vegetarian tagine, beautifully offset by fluffy couscous and warm flatbread – spicy and delicious. My partner however champions the starter of ripe melon, Serrano ham and Parmesan cheese, drizzled with balsamic honey, from the specials board. This, he followed with chicken breast with baby vegetables and a wonderful garlic mash. We rounded off our delicious dinner with the indulgent Eton Mess with fresh summer berries and a scrumptious cheese board – perfection.
