The Guardian summed up Darts Farm’s essence by saying, ‘it was like finding Selfridges Food Hall dumped in the middle of a field, but with affordable prices and the produce from within a 30-mile radius’.

Darts Farm is fortunate to be situated in a region rich in high-quality artisan foods. The restaurant uses the West Country food hall as its larder, with chefs preparing fresh dishes every day. The extensive menu offers delights ranging from hearty all-day breakfasts and Darts Farm’s famous homemade lasagne to decadent afternoon teas. A glass of Devon apple juice or a bottle of locally produced wine and homemade cake with clotted cream let the good, basic ingredients speak for themselves, and may just give you a taste for all the wonderful food and drink available to purchase in the farm shop.

For something totally unique, visit The Fish Shed, voted Best Fishmonger in the Devon Life Awards 2011. All their fish is totally fresh, arriving straight off the boats each morning. You can pick seasonal fish, including monkfish and gurnard, straight from the slab and the fishermen chefs will fry it in beer batter or simply grill it with a little olive oil. If you’re in a hurry, dine at the deli bar, which offers freshly made sandwiches, salads, soups, delicious locally made pizzas, cakes and hot or cold drinks to eat in or take away.

If all that wasn’t enough, Darts Farm also runs foodie events ranging from cookery demonstrations with local celebrity chefs, to food safaris such as the Catch and Cook, which offers the opportunity to go out on a day boat, line-catch your sea bass and bring it back to Darts Farm to prepare and cook.
