If you fancy a Mexican, but your partner prefers American, or even Italian, there’s a feisty welcome for you down the A3.

El Torito celebrates Latino life and is home to intense flavours, atmosphere and Latin spirit. Discover cocktails, tequilas and fresh foods that breathe new life into great Latino traditions. Families gather for a regular Saturday night out, couples linger over a glass of champagne as they enjoy a secret toast and groups laugh and joke as they celebrate a friend’s birthday. With musicians to entertain, you could be forgiven for thinking you were in Mexico City.

Pop into the bar for a glass of wine or an exotic cocktail from the extensive list, or stay to choose from the veritable feast on offer, which includes tapas, pizza, pasta, meat dishes and a special selection for children.

I’ll come back for a cocktail out in the bar area of the lounge; it has a completely different atmosphere, more intimate with alcove seating and comfy leather sofas. During the daily happy hour there is 50 % off all drinks and ‘beat the clock’ to receive 30% off the food bill – call the restaurant for further details. It is no surprise that El Torito has already become one of north Surrey’s most popular and sociable places to meet and eat.

If I’m lucky I’ll be doing some star spotting too, as the Chelsea football team’s training ground is nearby and I hear they have a fondness for El Torito...

There is live Latin music every Friday and Saturday, a great Sunday lunch and a play area with toys and games to keep the little ones occupied. There is plenty of parking at the Cobham restaurant, and El Torito have other branches in Weybridge, Cheam and Wimbledon.
