The first All Bar One opened in Sutton in 1994 and since then has developed into one of the most talked about bar brands in the UK.
The design is modern, open and airy, with large windows that allow guests to watch the world go by. It's comfortable, with antique mirrors, natural colours, brass features and reclaimed wood finishing creating a blend of modern and classic.
I have become a fan of their World Tapas, sharing plates that are available throughout the day, at the affordable price of one for £4, three for £11 or six for £20. Selections include houmous with a pile of pitta bread, tiger prawns and a Thai dip, spicy meatballs, and satay chicken. These can be added to by a (huge) bowl of chips or roasted new potato salad. If you want something more substantial, a variety of big dishes are offered, including a chargrilled rump steak sandwich in ciabatta with chips, salmon and haddock fishcakes, and chicken linguine in a chilli, sweet pepper, tomato and cream sauce. These larger dishes come in at around £6-£9.
Wine plays a central part in All Bar One with a large range on offer from around the world, starting from around £11 a bottle. A very impressive beer range features a collection of draught and bottled beers from the continent, including Munich's favourite wheat beer Schneider Weisse, Belgium's abbey blonde, Leffe, and Italy's delicate pilsner, Birra Moretti.
Its convenient locations, affordable prices, and tasty food make All Bar One a great option for drinks after work, a group night out or a long boozy lunch.
