Bella Italia - Grafton Centre

Bella Italia offers a wide range of delicious Italian inspired food in a homely atmosphere. Their restaurants are ideal for a breakfast bite to eat, leisurely lunch or family dining and parties whatever the occasion, and for a pre- or post-theatre meal, Bella Italia comes top of my list.

The menu includes a wide selection of starters, including formaggio fritta (mozzarella, fontina and Parmesan cheese in breadcrumbs, deep fried until melted and served with a sweet red onion marmellata), and antipasto misto (a selection of cured regional Italian meats served with ciabatta bread, olives and rocket).

Menus include tempting old favourites with new twists: the pizzas are thin and crispy, the piatto rustico (a selection of traditionally cured meats, buffalo mozzarella, rustic tomatoes, roasted peppers and artichokes), heads up the new sharing dishes in the starter section. The griglia section offers dishes like chargrilled sirloin or rib-eye steaks and the pollo alla griglia (chargrilled chicken breast with a dolcelatte, white wine and cream sauce, served with sautéed new potatoes, garlic mushrooms and rocket salad). Desserts continue in the traditional vein, with an addition of the Godfather Part II, a
delightful assortment of banana, caramel and fudge.

The restaurants are true to their Italian roots; poster prints and paintings hang everywhere, and the pace is truly relaxed. Bella Italia is wonderful for a hassle-free meal and caters for all types of diners, from business people and shoppers to those seeking a special romantic supper.
