A winning formula of fantastic homemade fare and excellent drinks has kept a loyal local following coming back to this traditional pub. A cosy lounge and restaurant awaits guests inside, and the community feel is most inviting. This hub of activity in the small village of Cadnam also provides plenty of entertainment – expect a quiz night on Tuesdays, live music every other week, major sporting events on Sky Sports and BT Sport, and even an annual beer festival.
As for the food, it’s fresh, fl avoursome and reasonably priced. The pick of the starters has to be the mini Camembert with crusty baguette and sweet and sticky red onion marmalade. For the main course, the hearty steak and ale pie, encased in buttery pastry and served with smooth mash, seasonal vegetables and lashings of onion gravy, is a firm favourite. Comforting British classics such as fish and chips are also on the menu, and daily specials include fish, vegetarian and meat dishes. For dessert, satisfy your sweet tooth with a lovely pudding, or finish with a cheeseboard with fresh bread. Accompanying drinks include an extensive selection of wines, three real ales (such as local Ringwood Best), four lagers and some scrumpy, too. Visit on a Monday and you’ll get all-you-can-eat chicken wings for £8.95, while on Friday you can tuck into two succulent rump steaks and a bottle of wine for just £25.
The Coach & Horses also welcomes families, and the outdoor play area is sure to keep the little ones busy whilst you relax in the sun on the decked area.
