No.4’s blend of Georgian charm and contemporary style makes it a refined yet relaxed venue, perfect for everything from weddings and parties to dining à deux. From our first glance at the menu, we could see why No.4 has been awarded an AA rosette – each dish was as mouth-watering as the last, making our decision pleasingly difficult. To start, I plumped for smooth, rich beetroot and cider soup with parsnip crisps and homemade focaccia, while my companion enjoyed the melt-in-the-mouth homemade fishcake. These delectable starters were followed by succulent lemon sole with caper butter and minted new potatoes for me and tender rump of lamb with Mediterranean veg, carrot purée, rosemary jus and a side of moreish hand-cut chips for my partner. My dessert of vanilla pannacotta was beautifully light and creamy and came with yummy homemade shortbread, and my companion’s chocolate torte with berry coulis was devilishly good. We’ll certainly be recommending No.4 to family and friends.
