2 Rooms Restaurant in Clifton Village has reached its third birthday and certainly deserves to celebrate. The clean, fresh feel of the restaurant combined with the sight of the chef preparing the freshest ingredients in the semi-open kitchen was a promising start, and things only got better.

The fantastic modern European menu presents a fusion of tastes and textures to make the mouth water. Of the starters, the pan-fried tiger prawns with chilli, garlic and ginger melted in the mouth and the caramalised red onion and goat’s cheese bruschetta provided the perfect marriage of flavours. Equally special were the main courses of braised lamb shank in red wine, rosemary and garlic, served with parsley mash, and fillet of sea bass with a pea and potato purée, roasted cherry tomatoes and a chilli and herb butter. The dessert menu presented a difficult choice with options such as a fantastic sticky toffee pudding. And the superb cheese platter encore was enjoyed with a glass of red from the extensive list.

Owner and proprietor Maria ensures all ingredients are locally sourced and everything from the daily soup to the scrumptious bread is homemade. Available for private parties and functions, Maria’s aim – to create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where you feel like you’re in the company of friends – has been wholeheartedly achieved.
