The Northey Arms, once a drinking hole called the Box Station Hotel (designed by Brunel and frequented by Noel Coward), has undergone a breathtaking transformation, emerging as one of Bath’s finest dining and drinking destinations. Prop up the bar, a pint of real ale in hand, or sink into one of the comfy leather couches in the lounge while you decide what to order. The Northey specialises in seafood dishes, utilising fresh fish delivered daily from Looe. Head chef Chris Alderson has been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand for his delicious, value-for-money creations – choose salmon fishcake with poached egg and hollandaise to start, followed by sea bass fillet with saffron new potatoes, roasted endive and salsa verde. With the creamiest caramel pannacotta imaginable, the dessert menu alone is reason enough to return to this fabulous pub. But don’t just take our word for it – find your own reasons to return again and again.
