Cafe Royal Edinburgh Eateries

This regal and opulent venue is incredibly popular and was built in 1863. The walls are adorned with Royal Doulton tiles depicting famous Scottish inventors. Considering its historical significance and the incredibly sumptuous food, The Café Royal is a great-value place to eat. The bar area serves a slightly different menu to the restaurant, where the prices reflect a more extravagant selection of seafood, lobsters and oysters. All of the food here is excellent value and particularly great for a celebratory meal. Pair a fresh seafood platter of oysters, lobster, scallops and langoustines with a crisp glass of Champagne.  There is a vast array of drinks to choose from here, including Scottish beer, ale, whisky and an extensive wine list.

No Ten Edinburgh eateries

No. Ten Restaurant                Price Range: £25 to £45

With an AA rosette under its belt, No. Ten Restaurant is located within Ten Hill Place Hotel, which is within walking distance of many of Edinburgh’s popular attractions, museums and galleries. It’s a really stylish and contemporary restaurant, run by head chef Alan Dickinson and is owned by The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. All profits go towards the institution’s activities, members and fellows as well as training surgeons worldwide. No. Ten Restaurant serves gorgeous mains such as sous vide pollock loin with crispy baby squid, cannellini beans, chorizo and ink – heavenly. Visit No. Ten Restaurant and enjoy an unforgettable dining experience at an incredibly generous price.

Chiquito Edinburgh Eateries

Chiquito                                     Price Range: £20 to £25

With multiple sites across Edinburgh and the surrounding area, a visit to Chiquito is bound to spice up your life. Serving delicious Mexican and American dishes to suit all tastes and budgets, Chiquito offers excellent value for money and some great offers throughout the year. Try one of their amazing burgers, like the Hero burger – a 5oz beefburger topped with slow-cooked pulled pork, chorizo slices, red jalapenos, Monterey Jack cheese, barbecue sauce and chipotle mayo. The cocktails here are really unique, with creative flavour combinations such as the Chilli and Coriander Margarita. The Tiramisu Martini makes the perfect dessert.

Established in 1983, Indian Lounge is a welcoming, family-run restaurant has been regarded as one of the best Indian restaurants in Edinburgh by many food critics. Its food offering is diverse and beautifully spiced and represents impeccably good value for money. The head chef carefully and personally sources ingredients from local suppliers, so you’re guaranteed a fresh and flavoursome meal. The specialities, which include tandoori salmon, lamb chop karai, haggis pakora and Indian-spiced fish and chips, are particular favourites among the local community.

Pop into this relaxed and friendly café and deli for fresh, top-quality local produce. For those looking for a lunchtime treat or an early dinner on the go, Relish is just the ticket. Try a grilled halloumi sandwich on artisan bread, with homemade pesto, roasted peppers and rocket – delicious!
