The Shambles, 66-70 Fore Street, Kingsbridge, TQ7 1PU

The Fat Monkey is situated along The Shambles, an Elizabethan market arcade in the heart of Kingsbridge. This delightful restaurant and tapas bar offers visitors a tasty array of freshly cooked delights. We visited on Tapas Tuesday and made the most of it with our starters. Our friendly host served mouth-watering dishes of whitebait with homemade tartare sauce, and plump olives with feta. We followed with a juicy burger stacked with bacon, cheese and all the trimmings, and spiced fish tacos with guacamole, coriander yoghurt and tasty hand-cut fries. We were tempted by sticky toffee pudding and chocolate cheesecake for dessert, but in the end we chose to share a zesty lemon posset with homemade shortbread. The jovial atmosphere and excellent food is reason enough to visit The Fat Monkey, but you can also check out their exciting weekday promotions and regular live music events. Once you’ve discovered this local gem, you’re bound to stop by again.
