55 Degrees North, Pilgrim Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 6BL

At the bottom of much-loved Pilgrim Street, diners flock to Zucchini Pasta Bar. This Italian restaurant has been serving freshly made pasta since 2017, and the simple and concise menu of Italian soul food has proved popular with the locals. The signature fresh pasta is made daily on-site using Northumberland-farmed free-range eggs, which make the pasta dough extra rich and luxurious.

Once rested overnight and rolled, the pasta is used in a wide variety of delicious dishes which are fresh, vibrant and bursting with flavour. Before you tuck into your main, you should order a pre-pasta starter. The twice-cooked duck fat new potatoes are divine, and the sharing platter – which includes lemon and garlic ricotta, Sardinian crisp bread and prosciutto – is to die for.

No matter what pasta dish you choose for your main, you can rest assured that it will taste incredible. My personal favourites are the pappardelle served with six hour beef shin and rosemary ragu, and the taglierini with Shetland mussels, garlic butter and raw courgette.

To round off your meal, choose from the post-pasta desserts. The lemon sorbet with limoncello is delightfully refreshing, while the tiramisu is rich and comforting – the ultimate Italian indulgence. A visit to Zucchini Pasta Bar is always a good decision; book a table online now to beat the crowds.
