If you’re looking to meet friends for lunch either during the working week or after a shopping trip, there is no better place than the stunning Jetty restaurant in Bristol’s Harbour Hotel.

Launched just last week, you can enjoy either two or three delicious courses. With the two course option, they promise to ensure that it is express so you can enjoy it without rushing in your lunch hour.

The Jetty is fairly new to the Bristol dining scene, but has quickly become a firm favourite. Not only due to the stunning décor, but also the outstanding standard of food and service. Harbour Hotels are known for going the extra mile and offering outstanding innovative dishes.

We went along for a mid-week working lunch and were greeted by a friendly and smartly dressed waiter who showed us to a booth by the window. The seats were made of turquoise velvet and wouldn’t have looked out of place in an art gallery. We were given our menus whilst our water glassed were topped up, we were persuaded to try one of the vast selections of gins with fever tree tonic.

Our gins arrived quickly with a basket of delicious freshly baked bread. The butter was served in an Oyster shell, a nice touch we thought, that tied in nicely as a reminder of the fantastic seafood reputation of the restaurant.

We decided to opt for Truffle Arancini with Basil mayonnaise; Purple Sprouting Broccoli Black olives, salted ricotta and Seabass Ceviche Fennel, grapefruit. We couldn’t help but try a little of everyone else’s, all were equally as delicious.

Our plates were quickly removed and replaced by our main course: I had chosen the fish and chips and it was huge! Perfectly cooked chips served with mushy peas and tartar sauce in another shell; with a large piece of cod in perfectly crispy batter. My colleagues had the fish pie with salmon, cod & smoked haddock and the smoked Haddock Fish Cake with brown butter sauce and poached egg. We all were impressed with the presentation and quality of the lunch and although we longed to try the dessert, we were far too full from the two courses.

We plan to return to try the amazing selection of desserts: Frozen Apple Panna Cotta; Chocolate Salted Caramel Tart with Buttermilk ice cream or Blueberry Baked Cheesecake Mascarpone.

The Jetty’s express lunch is the perfect choice for not only a retreat after weekend shopping, but during the week, it offers facilities that make it perfect for work lunches and celebrations.

When I return to try the full three courses, so to sample one of the delicious sounding desserts, I plan to visit their spa as well, it’s reputation precedes it and all who have been rave about how tranquil it is. The ideal relaxation retreat right in the heart of Bristol City Centre.
