Colwick Hall is delighted to announce Potty for Peter, a two-part volume containing ‘Tails of an Afternoon Tea’ and ‘Tales of Garden Cocktails’.

To do these wonderful books and stories justice, the team at Colwick Hall have immersed themselves in the world of Peter Rabbit & friends. We are fortunate enough to have the pleasure of announcing this wonderful concept.

The team at Colwick Hall have been on a quest for the perfect afternoon tea – the menu at the hotel is always heavily influenced by the seasons due to their constantly changing menu based on local fresh produce.

“Understanding the flavours and spirit of Easter approaching, our bunny themed tea seemed the natural selection”, says Executive Chef Lee Morledge.

The initial course of country garden sandwiches include lettuce wraps, spinach rounds and Peter’s prawn fillings amongst others.

Naomi Tupoulahi, Sales & Marketing Director, further explains, “Potty for Peter draws on many childhood memories and we present our best ever themed menu as we elevate flavours of the country garden”.

Squirrels Savoury Treats feature on the intermediate selection, from Lady Susan’s Garden Soup, to Chef Lee’s creamy leek and cheese pie. Eagerly awaited, the most tempting course has to be the Burrow of Sweet Surprises. Hidden within this treasure trove, there are bunny tail meringues with a raspberry swirl, ‘melt in your mouth’ carrot and ginger cookies (not sticky in the slightest), to a luscious lemon supreme cake. Plus the star of the show, a very delicious plant pot chocolate muffin! This is all served with Hannah’s exquisite selection of teas and coffees.

All this while, little paws have potted down the rabbit hole through the farmers market, over the berry patch and into the gin garden. Lauren, Head of Allotments, has been gathering ingredients in concocting cocktails inspired by the English springtime country garden at Colwick Hall. Be sure to grab a mojito punnet (£20) for a selection of four with different flavours such as strawberry, raspberry, blackberry and traditional. Virgin mojitos are at the ready for drivers and teetotallers. This is just one of several options from gin cocktails (£8 each), to bunny tail ice cream floats (£4.50) saddled with cotton candy, and Byron’s Boozy Bunnies such as Amaretto Hot Chocolate with whipped cream and almonds (£4.95).
