Lucknam Park may ring a bell. That’s because it was the site of one of the latest episodes of ITV’s The Secret Life of Posh Pets. Yes, the five-star hotel and spa has unveilled a new luxury package for doggie guests.
The award-winning hotel, in its 500 acre estate near Bath, has been causing a stir in the press this year. Michelin star restaurant Hywel Jones has reopened onsite, and its world-renowned spa has re-launched. A handful of prestigious accolades have also been won, including Gold and Silver awards at South West Tourism Excellence 2017, and a feature for Managing Director Claire Randall on the Boutique Hotelier Power List 2017.
Most recently, the hotel has been the site of pampered pooches and TV crews. Starring in ITV’s new documentary aiming to shine the spotlight on lucky pets, Lucknam Park is doing something new. As an increasing number of hotels and restaurants now advertise themselves as ‘dog-friendly’, Lucknam Park is going one step further: doggie retreats.
Paying up to £800 for the experience, owners and their dogs will enjoy a welcome pack, including hand-made dog biscuits and a biodegradable dog toy. Bedding, treats, a dog washing area, maps for walking around the estate, and much more can be expected.
The absolute peak of the pampering comes in the form of the doggie dinners. Canine guests can enjoy room service, and even freshly-cooked food from the Michelin Star Kitchen. More of a novelty for the owners, perhaps?
Most of all, special retreats aside, Lucknam Park is a hotel where dog owners can relax in a luxury, dog-friendly environment. Visit the website here for more details.
