Hotel Winchester

Beautiful historic Winchester is the perfect weekend getaway for couples, friends or family: with stunning historic buildings, museums and walks through South Downs National Park and all very easily accessible from wherever you are based in the country, we highly recommend visiting this former capital city of England.

For us, if you’re visiting such a pretty & historic city, then rather than staying in a generic chain hotel with little to no character, a boutique, quirky hotel with friendly staff who remember you and care about your trip is the perfect addition to your weekend.

The prestigious Westgate Pub with Rooms sits at the top of the high street in Winchester in the heart of the city. Looking out over ancient stone archways and stunning architecture, you feel quite regal looking down from this vantage point over this quaint place.

Weekend Break Winchester

Having recently been renovated to the highest of standards, each of the rooms is different and unique. The wallpaper carefully chosen and carefully preserved exposed brickwork and exquisite lighting makes staying here quite the delight. The en-suite bathrooms are of a similar standard and the huge power showers  are quite amazing.

Breakfast is another highlight to your stay and you can relax in the pretty bar area or even outside on the terrace whilst you enjoy anything from a full English Breakfast to my personal favourite:  smashed avocado on sourdough with bacon and a poached egg served with coffee, tea or fruit juice.

With rooms from just £85 per night, whether it’s a weekend away or you’re visiting Winchester for work, it’s the perfect place to stay. There is wi-fi through out so if you want to relax and watch the world go by whilst catching up with your emails then the staff are happy to leave you to it. Add a personal touch to your stay – the team are always happy to go the extra mile and will make your trip memorable.
