For £100 per couple, you’ll be greeted with Prosecco and canapés, before choosing which delightful dishes you’d like to try your hand at making. Options include gnocchi in creamy pear, walnut and saffron sauce, or perhaps fresh pasta with prawns and asparagus. Expect the exceptional at Arbennig – especially as that is what the name means in Welsh. This lovely British restaurant has racked up a medley of awards, including being named the Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year for 2015, and recommended by the Michelin Guide. The restaurant’s special set menu is priced at £55 per person, and mouth-watering dishes include beef Carpaccio, smoked salmon with beetroot and cottage cheese, and duck breast with butternut squash, tomato and chorizo ragout. After selecting a pudding from the likes of sticky toffee pudding and chocolate mousse with salted caramel ice cream, diners are treated to freshly brewed coffee and a square of fudge.

This Feb, talented chef Stephen Gomes will be putting on a special tasting menu, offering diners a Valentines-themed feast. Courses include chocolate-infused onion bhaji sponge with tamarind sorbet, hickory-smoked king prawns, and strawberry chocolate and curry mousse enhanced by cold pomegranate lava. The tasting menu is priced at £45 – a very reasonable price to pay if you’re looking to win points with your loved one.
