Lunch time in the office kitchen just got SO much more interesting…

choc mug cake - fi

Satisfy your sweet tooth as soon as it hits with a humble mug cake. Using just one mug and minimal ingredients, it takes less than five minutes to make – we reckon you’ll be eating cake all the time from now on. This cosy recipe is both easy and pleasing to make – just mix the gloopy, glossy mixture in your favourite mug and pull your perfectly risen, sweet-smelling, gooey cake out of the microwave. Done.

M-x2choc mug

Ingredients:
1/2 cup self-raising flour
3 tbsp hot chocolate powder
3 1/2 tbsp cold water
2 tbsp olive oil
pinch of salt
chocolate chips

Method:
Add the dry ingredients to your mug and mix well using a fork.
Pour the water in and stir, then add the olive oil.
Add the chocolate chips and pinch of salt and mix well.
Put in the microwave for one minute until cooked and gooey.

Making this delicious mug cake got me thinking: what else can you make in the microwave? Well, we’ll be experimenting in The Food & Drink Guides office and will let you know very soon.

Spoiler: someone called Spag Bol. We’ll see how it goes.
