Frankie says relax! And if Frankie says so, then you probably should!

Magdalen Chapter

And rumour has it, that before they settled with the name ‘Frankie Goes to Hollywood’, they toyed with ‘Frankie Goes to Devon’. But that’s probably just a crazy internet rumour (that we might have just made up).

Anyway, Devon has some amazing spa hotels with quality restaurants – so for dining and downtime it’s a great choice! Making a decision which spa to go to, however, may not be as easy. So, we’ve made it easier for you with a rundown of some of our favourite spa hotels with fine dining restaurants in Devon.

Magdalen Chapter

Magdalen Chapter is a luxury hotel in Exeter with full spa facilities nestled in their walled garden. The REN spa is open to residents and non-residents and includes an inside-out pool, a range of treatments with luxurious REN products as well as a decent selection of treatments for men. Step back inside the hotel and you’ll find a restaurant with theatre kitchen and seating inside and on the lovely terrace. Magdalen Chapter has a seasonal menu with private dining options available. It’s a lovely place to unwind for the day or for a seriously relaxing weekend break.

Woolacombe Bay Hotel

Overlooking one of the finest beaches in Europe, Woolacombe Bay is one of our favourite on the list. Head chef, Eduard Grecu, runs both of their restaurants, with The Bay Brassiere offering the more upmarket of the two menus. You can choose between ‘muscle melting massages’ and ‘revitalising facials’ in the Haven Spa, as well as lots of other treatment and therapies. Woolacombe Bay also has a number of treatments specifically for men.

Ilsington Country House Hotel
