Looking for somewhere to dine within a 30 minute walk from Twickenham Stadium? Look no further…

1 FI Twickenham

February 14th isn’t just about romance, pink hearts and doe-eyed lovers; it’s also the first Six Nations match at Twickenham Stadium. From this weekend Twickenham will be the home to most of the England matches. We’ll be taking on Italy, France and Scotland from this pitch, so we’re going to need some quality sustenance, and preferably within half an hour’s walking distance. London’s not far, but when you’ve got restaurants this good, this close you’ll soon see that won’t need to wander more than 30 minutes from the pitch.

2 Eel Pie

If it’s award-winning ales you’re after, in a classic pub serving homely food, this eatery is right up your street. The Eel Pie is located close to the river bank, down pretty Church Street and is a Hall & Woodhouse establishment, so you know you’re in good hands. Bench-style seating makes for sociable dining – perfect for having a match breakdown over a good old steak and pint of Badger ale. Read a review of The Eel Pie

Walk a few minutes from the stadium (not too far from The Eel Pie) and you’ll come across the warm terracotta exterior of this Italian restaurant and a giant picture of Punch. It’s attention grabbing to say the least, and how could you resist the toasty glow and delicious aromas of Italian food? Read a review of Osteria Pulcinella

Where can you find jazz, blues, a gallery, fine wines and tasty morsels? With exposed brick and a rustic feel, Brocca Antica is a cosy nook in Twickenham; a place to rejuvenate over linguine and a cocktail, pizza and a pint or anything else from the medley of classic Italian dishes on the menu. Read a review of Brocca Antica

6 St Margarets

A St Margaret’s institution – you can’t possibly visit Twickenham without popping in to the St Margaret’s Pub. If it’s a burger you’re craving then you certainly need to get this establishment on your radar. How does an Angus burger with Bloody Mary ketchup sound? Think huge chandeliers dripping from the ceilings, London chic with suburban charm and just for good measure, it’s right across the road from the Twickenham Film StudiosRead a review of St Margaret’s Pub & Dining

Tide Tables

Address: Beneath Richmond Bridge, Riverside, Richmond, TW9 1TH
Walking distance: 30 minute walk

7 Tide Tables

A riverside idyll, Tide Tables is a vegetarian cafe and restaurant located underneath Richmond Bridge. It’s a chilled out hideaway and a top spot for some leisurely lunch before those 5pm kick offs. It’s organic, veggie and Fairtrade and one of my favourite places on our Twickenham round up. Read a review of Tide Tables
