New book showcases this much-loved British staple in all its forms…

As it’s British Pie Week – another great excuse for we Fed-Up-&-Drunk-ies to get cooking and eating – it seemed a good time to shout about a great new cookbook set to be launched at the end of this month. Pie! by Genevieve Taylor celebrates all variants of that great British favourite comforter. A flick through its pages reveals something for everybody, whether you consider yourself a fan of this multifaceted mealtime stalwart or have never made a pie in your life.

From summer strawberry tartlets and cottage pie, to salmon en croute and everything in between, there’s a recipe that will feed the family, pack the picnic basket or make the perfect dinner party main. The 100 recipes are easy to follow and range from quick makes – using ready-made pastry – to the more in-depth, for when you have plenty of time on your hands. You can follow Genevieve on Twitter @genevieveeats, visit her website or pre-order the book on Amazon.

Sally Webb

Sally'’s favourite things include Sunday roasts after long country walks, BBC adaptations of Jane Austen novels, all things pasta and her dog Tiggy. Sally is currently sporting a rather large ‘preggalump’ and has not just eaten all the pies.
