Top chefs to join Alyn Williams in the kitchen…

September will be a month to remember for London foodies. Each week, ‘National Chef of the Year’ winner Alyn Williams will be joined in the kitchen of his eponymous Michelin-starred restaurant at The Westbury by one of four renowned chefs, resulting in a unique, once-in-a-lifetime dining experience.

These rare events will feature appearances from chefs boasting six Michelin stars and countless accolades between them. On each of these exclusive evenings, Alyn and his culinary guest star will unite their extraordinary cooking talents to produce a one-of-a-kind tasting menu.

Two-Michelin-starred Sat Bains will be the first to join Alyn at the stove on 3rd September. Great British Menu winner Sat is usually found cooking up a storm in his Nottingham eatery, Restaurant Sat Bains with Rooms, and is known for his innovative cooking style. The second chef to pick up the mantle will be Bart de Pooter, founder and chef at two-Michelin-starred restaurant Pastorale in Reet near Antwerp in Belgium, and winner of the esteemed title of the Gault Millau ‘Chef of the Year’ in 2012.

Simon Rogan – who has recently received his second Michelin star for L’Enclume in Cartmel and been shortlisted for The Cateys 2013 ‘Chef Award’ – will be stepping up to the hotplate on 17th September. As well as two-Michelin-star-worthy cooking skills, Simon will bring a respect for British ingredients and a gamut of inventive cooking techniques to Alyn’s kitchen.

In the final week, on 24th September, award-winning sommelier Ignatius Chan and his chef Akmal Anuar will be sharing their expertise. Their Singapore restaurant, Iggy’s, opened in 2004 and has been listed as one of S. Pellegrino’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants for the last seven years, as well as being crowned ‘Number One restaurant in Asia’ by the Miele Guide on three occasions.

Alyn Williams says: ‘I’m very proud to be hosting such a spectacular line-up of chefs this September. I admire them all and it’s very humbling that they will be coming to cook with me in my kitchen.

When it comes to the menus there are no rules, the guest chefs are in charge and each tasting menu will take its own shape with our different yet harmonious dishes. It’s going to be a hugely exciting month!’

Upon arrival, guests will be presented with a glass of Pol Roger Vintage 2004 Champagne – the first time this new vintage will be available to the public – and delectable canapés created by both chefs, before taking a seat in the plush dining room and savouring each beautifully crafted course from the collaborative tasting menu. This will feature four exquisite courses from each chef, as well as some sumptuous surprises along the way.

Tickets are priced at £180 per person – this includes all food, wine and Pol Roger Vintage 2004 Champagne. These exciting evenings offer a unique opportunity to sample food created by some of the world’s top chefs, so book early to avoid disappointment.
