Calling all London foodies – Appetite, festival of all things edible, announces its menu of events…
In our diverse capital, you can find cuisine from all over the globe and, come June, it shall all be bought to the table at London’s Appetite Food Festival. The full programme has recently been revealed and the impressive culinary line-up has got our mouths well and truly watering.
This 30-day event is made up of food stalls and unique dining events, mixed together with live demonstrations, infused with hands-on activities, seasoned by imaginative food-related art exhibitions and served with a side of beer-and-wine tasting. All of this, with a topping of live music and poetry, equates to a festive feast of epic proportions.
To kick things off in a suitable manner, festival goers will be treated to a special appearance from well-loved TV-chef Gennaro Contaldo – one half of the Two Greedy Italians duo and Jamie Oliver’s Mediterranean mentor. Walthamstow Town Square is the place to be on June 1st, as Gennaro gets the gastronomic ball swiftly rolling.
Laura Kerry is among the event organisers and was excited to disclose this year’s comprehensive menu of events: “It’s an amazingly packed programme of diverse events. There’s something for everyone, ranging from a Tudor feast, pop-up poetry café, fairytale tea parties, edible bugs, real ale festival, gourmet food fair, food walks and a food trail. Appetite has shown us that the marriage of food and art is naturally complementary; artists, chefs and food makers of all kinds are collaborating to create wonderful eating experiences!”
By now you should find your tastebuds sufficiently tantalised. To give you more of a taste of things to come, take a look at the full programme here and grab yourself a scrumptious slice of the action.
