After a hugely successful run last year, the Eat Drink Bristol Fashion spectacular will be returning to the city from 13th May to 27th May 2013.
2012 saw plenty of sublime cuisine, a bar boasting finest beverages, and live entertainment – all within the EDBF ‘tipi village’ set in historic Queen Square. Beautifully lit up at night; its sides lifted on sunny days to create an airy awning area and festival feel, the village was inundated with visitors last year, dropping in for lunchtime bites or a leisurely dinners after work.
Inside, there will be two bars open until late, and casual dining in the form of a modern British tapas lounge. Last spring we sampled the chips with chip shop curry sauce, the ‘pig twigs’ and the superb truffle and Montgomery toast – which were all divine. There’s free entry, and the best part is there’s no need to make a reservation, unless you’d like to attend the more formal restaurant for evening dining, run by Bristol’s best restaurateurs and chefs – in which case you’d better get a ticket and quick!
Amongst those hosting these evenings, will be the talented chefs from The Pony & Trap, Berwick Lodge, Wilks Restaurant, Bath Priory, Casamia and the Star & Dove. It’s all about making merry, so of course there will be a variety of entertainment laid on too – everything from visual art to theatre and live music. Enjoy Champagne and oysters, or just a casual pint of scrumpy in one of the chill-out dens if you prefer. So, Bristol residents, be sure to look out for those telltale tipis popping up across Queen Square next month.
So pleased EDBF is returning, I thought it was a brilliant idea. And it is round the corner from where I work so we had lots of lovely sunny lunches. Queues were pretty big at times though!
