Whether you’re after a simple bite to eat, fine dining or just a drink, you’ll find it all served up with a warm welcome at The Chequers.

If it’s a fine-dining experience you’re after, reserve a table in the upstairs restaurant, which serves a menu of top-quality modern British cooking. Head chef Leigh Evans and his team have created a menu using the finest local and regional produce. Inventive yet with one eye on culinary heritage, and with a keen eye for presentation, their food is of the highest standards. The restaurant is also available for exclusive hire for private events and functions.

Downstairs, chalkboards display a tempting range of great-tasting home-prepared dishes and inventive pub classics. Add to that a great wine list and a selection of wellkept local ciders and ales, and you have The Chequers. A bustling weekday lunchtime trade is testimony to the popularity of the daytime offering: soups, salads and more tempting homemade dishes bring in locals and tourists alike. And their Sunday lunches are approaching legendary status too – booking in advance for these is most definitely recommended.

The Chequers is located just a short walk from some of Bath’s most famous landmarks – including The Circus and the Royal Crescent. It’s perfectly situated and packed with goodness.
