Bath Da Vinci Something of an institution, Da Vinci Italian Deli (33 Wellsway) in Bear Flat has been wowing customers with top quality Italian fare for six years. And now owners Vincenzo and Joanne Bartolo are using their own ingredients and passion for great Italian food at their new venture just up the road, making fantastically authentic, hand spun pizzas to take away. ‘Our pizza dough uses traditional Italian flour and olive oil’ says Vincenzo. ‘Our selection of fresh toppings are mixed with real mozzarella, maintaining the authentic Napolitan tradition of pizza making’. And it shows. Vincenzo’s namesake pizza offers a topping of Parma ham and artichoke (£7.90). Bosa adds goat’s cheese to the mix, as well as sun dried tomatoes and olives (£7). Calzone options parcel tomato, ham, salami and ricotta inside a steaming crispy shell (calzone salame, £7). And there’s your standard favourites too – capricciosa, marinara, Americano (£6.50-£7.90). With salads, houmous and olives, bruschetta, truly indulgent desserts and the like also available, you’ve got yourself a veritable Mediterranean feast minus the restaurant prices and all in the comfort of your own home. Buy a bottle of Italian wine or beer and really make a night of it. < return to search results |
