If driving through the Cotswold Hills and you see a sign for Greet, a small pretty village situated just a mile from the historic market town of Winchcombe, follow it. The Harvest Home - a traditional country pub with a large garden - is situated in the heart of the village, overlooking scenic countryside and the GWR Steam Railway. The addition of a wooden viewing platform at the rear of the garden, so that children can stand and look at the trains, shows great attention to detail and real care for patrons.

On entering The Harvest Home you'll experience a warm and friendly welcome, before settling down by the open fire in the bar. The proprietors, John and Helen Young, have spent much time and care in refurbishing The Harvest Home, managing to retain little features such as 'Donald's Corner', an area so named in memory of a local character who once frequented the pub. The bar is spacious yet cosy and is the ideal place for enjoying a glass of wine from the extensive and varied list, some award-winning real ales or for casual dining, enjoying the buzzing atmosphere. The dining room is really quite impressive, with its beamed ceiling, wooden floors and large stone fireplace. There is seating available for up to 60 people, with the added bonus of wood-panelled dividing doors, which separate the restaurant and offer the facility of private dining. This room is ideal for any occasion, whether for a quiet intimate dinner or large party.

The menu centres around fresh local produce cooked to the highest standard, offering both a 'traditional favourites' menu and specials board. There is plenty of choice - whether you fancy good old favourite Gloucestershire Old Spot sausages and mash or pan-fried liver and bacon, or want to choose from the specials, which include seared scallops with a lime and chilli glaze and decadent roast pheasant on a bed of braised red cabbage. Children are also welcome and a special children's menu is available. The Harvest Home offers good service, value for money and is well worth a visit.
