Isle of Wight,
The Pointer Inn is a peaceful, friendly pub in a countryside setting. This historic hostelry is just far enough away from the busy towns of Ryde and Sandown to give it a charmingly rural feel. The unique and carefully selected menu, full of local produce, is enough to whet any appetite and the inclusion of Godshill pheasant, New Forest venison and Isle of Wight pork sausages suggests careful sourcing and attention to detail. Pub classics like the delicious ham, egg and chips, gourmet burgers and local-meat spaghetti bolognaise add further to the mouth-watering choice, meaning there really is something for all. With friendly staff, a collection of daily specials and homemade puddings such as the to-die-for toasted oat crumble and strawberry Pavlova, it’s no wonder The Pointer Inn recently won Fuller’s annual ‘Country Pub of the Year’ award. Booking is certainly advised.
